Welcome to the eclectic interior of our client’s Mount Lawley Residence. Working with the client, we pieced together their existing beautiful items of furniture and collectables accumulated over many years. Together with a handsome art collection, we combined existing and new elements to create a wonderful showcase of their most prized possessions.
Reflecting the homeowners relaxed yet elegant Australian style, we paired back current furniture and accessories and incorporated new contemporary design pieces to compliment and layer upon the original design. Thus keeping the spirit of the interior yet elevating it to a defined destination.
Newly acquired pieces for the main living space include a stunning Rabari rug by Doshi Levien for Nanimarquina. The rug anchors and provides the living room a textural art piece, this juxtaposed with a Kvadrat Cloud installed over the fireplace mantle creates movement and enlivens the existing art pieces through colour symmetry. The composition is grounded by an original Eames lounge chair and the classic simple lines of a Walter Knoll Jaan sofa.
To infuse the clients personal style, accessories collected from years of travel and living overseas were displayed in more curative style and therefore become a visual part of the interiors conversation.
The master bedroom was treated as a retreat for the homeowners. Harking back to years spent living in the United States. We drew inspiration from the Hamptons region creating infusions between contemporary and country styles. Layers of textured fabric cushions are framed by the classic white denim headboard.
The use of modern and classic pieces allows the client’s collection to be brought back to life with the new infusions. The interior now truly reflects the client’s personal identity and style.
